Inspired by the contemporary move towards genuine craft my work explores contrasting the perfect world of computer generated editorial with the imperfect world of craft and folk tales. Focussing on today’s fascination with tabloid trash and the written word my work explores the possibilities of turning fact into fairytale and taking the disposable and turning it into indisposable pieces of craft using a blend of illustration, fabrics and ‘traditional’ computer based graphics. My disposable pieces deconstruct and delve behind the scenes of every day stories and weave them into quirky, unfamiliar surroundings to be cherished in.
